Systems/Network Engineer (06/2006 - 09/2008 )

Staff member at IT consulting firm and managed services provider (MSP). Primary responsibilities included providing clients with System Administration (SA) support, specialized for Linux, Windows 2003 and Solaris 9/10 environments. Secondary responsibilities included infrastructure administration and optimization , network security, managing trouble tickets from clients, and assisting Database Administrators in maintaining internal datasets.

Lawson ASP Firm

Lead a nationwide project in deployment of full-tunnel Sonicwall VPN devices. Clients unique environment required resolution of security issues, network addressing, and interoperability with Nortel Contivity VPN Concentrators devices.



Financial Services Firm

Designed, Implemented, and Maintained a Fibre Channel & Gigabit Ethernet Solaris 10 environment, the backend for a custom web-based Java options trading platform. Modernized the original environment from SPARC-based Solaris9 to AMD Opteron Solaris 10 platform. Performed migration of web application, and data volumes from StorEdge A1000 arrays to StorageTek 6140 Arrays for database servers. Implemented Sun Cluster 3.2 for Production and Staging environments. Performed detailed performance analysis of Application Servers and Network Appliances. Other duties included configuring PIX firewalls, performing package installations, performing disaster recovery scenarios, and day to day system support for Production, Test, and Development environments.



Entertainment Firm

Designed, Implemented, and Maintained an OpenSuSE 10 Linux SMB file server for MacOS X clients. Configured TLS-based FTP services and for staff and outsourced staff. Provided day-to-day support for production environment.



Renowned Theater Organization

Audited and diagnosed performance issues of web-based Point of Sale system. Performed log analysis on IIS 6.0, Windows Server 2003, and Netgear Managed Gigabit Switches. Genereated a presentation with evidence from performed tests to support diagnosis, reported results and recommendations directly to client's Management team.



InfoManage Infrastructure

Designed, Implemented, and Maintained a Virtual Server environment. Implemented high-availability technologies to Exchange, SQL, IIS, and CIFS/SMB services utilizing Virtual Servers as cluster nodes across consolidated servers. Reduced Datacenter energy footprints as a direct result of consolidation of Virtual Servers. Coded scripts to facilitate system state backups, and manage disk utilization for backups. Upgraded core client & server network to Gigabit with optimal facilities to use iSCSI over Ethernet as the protocol for a local Storage Area Network.



Reality Check Network
Linux System Administrator (03/2006 - 05/2006 )

Primary Responsibilities included the planning and execution of a datacenter migration from downtown Manhattan to a state-of-the-art Weehawken, NJ facility. Secondary responsibilities included providing clients with technical support specialized in Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.

Staff member of large luxury manufacturing and fine jewelry company . Primary responsibilities included providing end-users with desktop technical support, specialized in Windows 2000/XP, IBM Client Access 400, custom-built manufacturing applications, and a Windows 2000 Active Directory network.

CNC Tool Conversion

Developed a command line based application written in C to quickly and accurately convert batches of CNC instruction code from 3-axis to 5-axis coordinates.



Novell NetWare Phase Out

Designed, Implemented, and Deployed a Windows 2000 Workstation Rollout to all departments. Utilized Norton Ghost to create a basic system image and deployed it via Ghost's network boot disk. Joined all workstations to a brand new Windows 2000 Active Directory domain and implemented Roaming Profiles.
